Working Groups: Sustainability

The objectives of the Sustainability Working Group are to determine actions to provide:

  1. incentives for energy-efficient choices at assembly/parts plants;
  2. support for training employees to handle new technologies;
  3. funding for demonstration programs to develop advanced and/or bridging technologies;
  4. funding for the development of advanced re-fuelling infrastructure;
  5. incentives for advanced technology vehicles to accelerate consumer acceptance;
  6. reductions in new vehicle taxes;
  7. regulations to achieve appropriate fuel quality in accordance with the World Wide Fuel Charter; and,
  8. appropriate price signals for alternative fuels.

The working group is chaired by Gerry Fedchun, President, Automotive Parts Manufacturers' Association of Canada.
